Name a WHU player who you saw make their only ever WHU first team appearance?
a) it had to be a competitive fixture
b) you actually had to have been in the crowd

Ray Houghton. Second half sub away at Arsenal early 80s. The day of the smoke bomb in the Nothbank. Lost 2-0. He was released at the end of the season and went to Oxford Utd.
IIRC one of the la ronde brothers played that day as well.

At Millwall and saw Mauricio Taricco. Bizarrely wearing the no 9 shirt. On the pitch for about 20 mins.

Came on as a sub in a 2-2 draw up at Anfield, end of the 90s. Redknapp got him from non-league somewhere.Probably one of his 'creative' deals.

This doesn't count as it was a pre-season friendly but I saw 'TRIALIST 1' come on against Palace Away probably circa 2005 at Selhurst Park.
Not sure if anyone remembers this? The player in question was never named, not in the programme and not announced when he came on, he was a big black guy with dreads who I think form memory came on and played up front, still to this day baffles me what that was all about and why he wasn't named.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if already done...but
Dylan Tombides - came on as a sub for the last couple of mins to a standing ovation against Wigan in the League Cup - 2013ish? Had no hair still due to the chemo. It was an emotional moment at the time and is even more poignant looking back now.
